John Murphy
Founder and CEO
John Murphy began his career working for nearly a decade with a New York money center bank as a commercial lender. Murphy became proficient in construction and permanent financing in the medical, office and retail real estate sectors.
In 1991, John became the Executive Vice President and Director of Development of AJM Management Services, Inc.
In this role, John was instrumental in contributing to the development of both the North and Northeast Medical Centers, two of the larger ambulatory healthcare facilities in New York State.
John also served as the Executive Vice President of North Medical, PC., the largest primary care practice in Upstate New York, with patient volume exceeding 300,000 visits per year.
In the past five years, John and his company guided the disposition and acquisition of medical office properties in New York, Virginia, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida. In 2016, John, along with his company, facilitated the sale of a $60 million portfolio of medical offices in Syracuse to a publicly traded REIT.
John has been involved with these properties for over 30 years, to include the original development, ongoing management, leasing, and currently property manager. John has developed a comprehensive understanding of how the patient navigates through the healthcare system and the challenges that medical providers must overcome. He constantly uses this information as a building owner and management company to improve the patient and client experience.
In the past three years, his properties have invested in technology, energy efficient systems, advanced sterilization and disinfecting equipment, security and access control systems. Each of these investments has a measurable economic and environmental return. Occupancy percentage and Tenant retention rates at properties managed by HRM exceed national averages.
